Mazeppa Park
645 Mazeppa Rd, Mooresville, NC 28115
About
Designed to be fast, flowy, and family-friendly, the Mazeppa Park trail system is predominantly smooth with minimal punishing rock gardens or heavy technical obstacles. Instead, the trails are heavily characterized by sweeping turns, bridges, and dirt berms everywhere throughout the main loop. Alongside the main cross-country loop, the park includes a few dedicated jump lines tucked near both the soccer and baseball field, providing progressive options for lappable fun.
Trails
Before You Ride
The below are a selection of our favorite trails. More trails are likely available and can be found on the trail map.

Main Loop
There is quite a bit of pedaling in this one. Mazeppa is full of short quick runs filled with berms throughout the entire full loop. The full loop will take you through the whole mix of trails - GoPro Loop, Tech Loop, Soccer Loop, and the paved path to take you to the Baseball Loop.
Soccer Jumpline
Bouldery techy start to another fun jumpline at Mazeppa Park - the Soccer Jumpline! Instructions on how to get here are below for those who need them! Super sick area of Mazeppa Park and I would highly recommend How to get here: 1) From the Soccer Fields Main Parking Lot, head directly down the paved path between the soccer fields passing the bathrooms and ticket booth on your right. Keep down this paved path until you reach the end of the soccer fields and the entrance will be just ahead in the woods to the right. 2) There is a second parking lot closer to the entrance of the trail just at the end of the soccer fields. Park here for super quick lappable access to the Soccer Jumpline 3) You will come across the Soccer Jumpline naturally along the main Mazeppa Park trail. 4) From the Baseball Field Parking/Baseball Jumpline - Either shred the baseball jumpline down, or take the paved path with the baseball jumpline on your left, and continue down the paved pathway (away from the baseball fields) for a decent pedal. You will keep pedaling until that paved pathway intersects with another sidewalk at the soccer field corners, at which point the trail entrance is just a short pedal to your left which should be visible. Mazeppa has dedicated OPEN/CLOSED signs per trail that are clearly visible.
How-to get here instructions below for those who found this video while struggling to find these trails! There are two main jumplines, a lower line that goes left and an upper line that goes right. The first pass I do is on the lower line and the second pass is on the upper line. Lower line (left) - You have an optional small drop to start things out, leading to another optional drop that increases just a small bit in size. From there the jumps begin, with a mix of tabletops and small knuckled jumps, all of which are optional. Upper line (right) - The upper line has 2 entrances. 1) Intermediate - Start out with the same optional drop on the lower line but instead of continuing left, go right to the mandatory 3 - 4 foot rock drop. This starts your descent into the quick hit that is the upper Baseball Jumpline. 2) Advanced - This starts at the trailhead entrance branching off to the right just as you enter the Baseball Jumpline wooded area. This entrance starts with massive boulders to navigate on top of as it leads you to a pretty sizeable 6 - 7 foot drop off one of these iconic boulders. From there it shares the same upper jump line section as the intermediate option. You can see this line and drop in the video to the right on the second pass starting at 0:44. Unfortunately, the rain moved in during my first run down the upper line so I wasn't able to ride the advanced upper line entrance section. I will be headed back eventually to tick this feature off the list! How-To Get Here: 1) If you want to drive - drive over to the baseball field side of Mazeppa Park all the way to the end of the parking lot to the baseball field #3. You will see numbers on the different fields as you drive by them so don't worry, you haven't missed the #3 field yet since it is at the very end. Park in the parking lot and head down the paved path that begins at the roundabout at the end of the parking lot. Just a short pedal from here and the trail entrance will be on your left. Mazeppa has dedicated OPEN/CLOSED signs per trail that are clearly visible. 2) From the Soccer Jumpline exit that intersects with the paved pathway (if you did not specifically head for this trailhead from the parking lot, you come across this naturally while on the main trail), exit right onto the paved pathway. Keep pedaling along this paved path for a few minutes and you will start to see signs of the baseball fields. Keep pedaling along the paved path until you see the #3 field, which is your sign that you are close to the baseball Jumpline. The trail entrance will be near the end of the #3 ballfield right foul line on your right, reference 0:41 for a visual. Mazeppa has dedicated OPEN/CLOSED signs per trail that are clearly visible.
