About
Another trail system featuring technical riding and unique features located just outside of Charlotte in Belmont, NC. There is a little something for everyone here from handcut singletrack to machine built flow lines. The handcut singletrack has that raw feel of mountain biking in the woods. The Outpost features a Blue, Black, and Double Black jump line. The Boulder trail features technical climbing over chunky rocks, through rock gardens, and a rock-centric jump line fed by a wooden roll-in.

Before You Ride
The below are a selection of our favorite trails. More trails are likely available and can be found on the trail map.

Rocky Branch Trail
Serving as the main artery through the park, this wide gravel path connects the Belmont and Cramerton entrances. It’s a straightforward multi-use route perfect for walkers, runners, or cyclists who want a casual ride. It provides easy access to the dedicated mountain biking zones scattered throughout the woods.
Boulder Trail
Built for riders looking to push their technical skills, this demanding loop kicks off right from the main trail and starts off with its signature boulders. It is packed with mandatory drops, very chunky rock gardens, narrow wooden skinnies, and rock jumps at the end of the trail. This challenging route requires solid bike control and a willingness to tackle harsh terrain.
Euler's Way
Euler's Way first branches off to the LEFT of the main gravel Rocky Branch Trail, just after the Boulder Trail entrance/exit. After a brief stint in the woods riding parallel to the Rocky Branch Trail, you pop back onto the main gravel path for a less than 10 second pedal, and are dropped back into the woods to the RIGHT. This trail does a great job feeling like it is mostly descending right from the get go, with a just small pedal mixed in the middle of descents. You find out why at the end Euler's Way, with one of the most challenging, steepest, and longest climbs in all of Rocky Branch Park - The Powerline Climb. Just when you get to the top of a steep, technical climb, you come around the corner to another steep climb ready to make you give up. Keep going! Can you complete the Powerline Climb without stopping or dabbing?
Canopy Trail
The Canopy Trail at Rocky Branch Park does a fantastic job as a green trail to introduce riders to small drops, jumps, and technical obstacles they would encounter on trails. The Canopy Trail also has a small introductory jump line with both a beginner and intermediate option, offering fun tabletop jumps made of rock slabs similar to those found on the Boulder Trail (check out video on the channel!). Right from the very beginning of the trail, you have the option to break off left for a small drop practice zone. These are 3 total green trail size drops, with the tallest being maybe just over a foot high. If you go pass the drop shortcut, you get to the jumps shortcut, which leads you to the (surprise!) tabletop jump line made of rock slabs. Passing the jump shortcut will take you to the full Canopy Trail, which is a mellow ride with optional rock obstacles mixed along the way to build your skills and confidence in handling. The full trail eventually intersects with the Jumps shortcut, which feeds directly into the drop practice section, before completing the trail.
Legacy Trail
Incorporating parts of the area's original singletrack, this trail offers a raw, technical ride with steep drops, harsh roots, and rocky natural terrain. With both mandatory and optional jump features, it provides a rugged, old-school challenge for experienced riders.
Eagle Trail
Starting near the Cramerton trailhead, this machine-built flow track is a smooth, fast introduction to the park's riding style. The short point-to-point route uses sweeping berms and approachable tabletops to help newer riders build confidence, while also offering an optional advanced drop for those wanting a quick thrill.
Outpost - Bent Nickel (Blue Jump Line)
Dropping in from a large wooden starting deck, this machine-built beginner line serves as an approachable introduction to jump trails. The start has a mandatory small drop that leads to safe table top jumps. This trail offers a solid right hand wall ride which can be helpful for riders of all skills.
Outpost - BlackSmith (Black Jump Line)
Rolling out from the same main wooden deck, this trail ramps up the challenge immediately with a slightly larger drop starting things off, leading to an optional wall ride on the left hand side. The wall ride leads immediately to a dirt jump and right into a series of 2 wooden kickers. Be careful on these wood kickers, as they can send you quite far.
Outpost - Deal Breaker (Double Black Jump Line)
Frequently touted as the best line in the park by advanced riders into jumping. The trail starts with a mandatory gap drop leading to some nice berms into another mandatory gap drop. From there the jumps are introduced with a roller into a small jump to warm things up. The jumps get progressively larger, have deeper knuckles, and the speed ramps up fast, so be ready for some proper speed control going into these jumps.
Outpost - Stump
A short quick hit to the right outside of the Outpost. This trail starts with an optional wood drop that leads to an optional rock popping jump and twisty tight turns. Adding in the optional Renko Falls connector trail immediately after can extend this quick trail a little longer.
Outpost - Renko Falls
Short optional connector trail, only accessed from the end of the Outpost and Stump trails, that starts off with small optional drops leading to a quick descent into another optional bigger drop. The ride is over in all of about a minute, but there is plenty of fun mixed in to want to hit this on your exit every time.
